Basic Function
Responsible for managing the development, monitoring, and maintenance of project schedules for Planning, Engineering Design, and Construction Services. Maintain Primavera databases and download EPS schedule updates monthly. Works with Project Managers, Director and other METRO staff for scheduling assignments. Manage the coordination, preparation and update of program level schedules and detailed project schedules. Perform schedule simulations pertaining to management decision making for various Capital Projects. Performs duties in a safe, efficient manner and in compliance with all applicable rules and safety procedures.
Responsibilities and Specific Duties
- Coordinates with PEC staff, consultants, and contractors in the development of PEC schedules.
- Provides overall schedule coordination with project management staff for consistent and accurate schedule control during project implementation.
- Coordinates with project managers for fiscal year budget development (CIP sheets) via project schedule forecast.
- Develops and maintains METRO’s overall program schedule database consisting of Primavera Enterprise Project Structure (EPS), WBS, cost loading structure, and resource management.
- Tracks project schedule and cost incurred and produces Schedule Variance, Performance Index, project S-curve reports and risk analysis.
- Responsible for preparing schedule exhibits and reports to satisfy federal reporting requirements in addition to preparing schedules for Executive Management and the METRO Board.
- Reviews construction schedule submittals by A/E firms and Contractors to ensure proposed schedules meet the requirements of the project.
- Reviews schedule updates, and accesses risk of potential delay claims. Performs schedule simulations for potential schedule acceleration.
- Assist Project Managers in resolution of construction issues and conflicts by reviewing schedule sequencing and logic, including detailed analysis and schedule simulations of corrective measures to mitigate delays.
- Assists in the evaluation of potential change orders. Analyzes schedule disruptions, determines root causes, and identifies mitigation/recovery strategies and opportunities to accelerate the project.
- Provides project risk assessments in conjunction with project schedule and monitors risk registers for any time impact.
- Provides excellent customer service to METRO internal and external customers.
- Promotes safety awareness and follows safety procedures to reduce or eliminate accidents.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Education Requirement
B.S. in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Years & Experience Required
Graduate engineer preferably with 0 - 2 years’ experience in scheduling.
Knowledge & Skills Required
Experience with scheduling using Primavera(P6). Has developed/maintained project schedules for various sizes of capital projects. Ability to coordinate, obtain and compile information from various departments and levels of management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
