Basic Function

Responsible for supporting all aspects of Revenue Services operations. Works with various Finance teams to ensure that revenue disbursements are processed and recorded timely and in compliance with all related policies and procedures. Assist Director Revenue Services in developing guidelines and procedures for fare collection.  Perform duties in a safe, efficient manner and in compliance with all applicable rules and safety procedures.

Responsibilities and Specific Duties

•    Ensures accurate and timely recording of financial transactions by developing a clear understanding of METRO’s business process.
•    Reviews and approves payments for fare equipment, system support, armored transport services and fare media revenue collection.
•    Inputs all Revenue Services’ capital and operating purchases request in SAP shopping cart.
•    Reconciles buses probed & vaulted within Cubic ERF system to fleet assignments for each Bus Operating Facility (BOF).
•    Reconciles Banknote on Board Re-loaders (BBRs) collected at the vault room.
•    Analyzes and resolves revenue financial issues with Director. 
•    Performs due diligent reviews on selected revenue financial information.   
•    Reconciles revenue transactions with Harris County Toll Road Authority (HCTRA), TransCor for High Occupancy Toll (HOT) lanes program.
•    Develops and generates monthly detail and summary reports for HOT lane activity. 
•    Assists with monthly journal entries in preparation for monthly and year-end close. 
•    Assists in preparing the division annual operating budget and enters data in the budget system.
•    Partners with other divisions/departments to ensure accurate financial information while improving business process.
•    Provides excellent customer service to METRO internal and external customers. 
•    Applies SMS methods and principles in their daily routine and supports all aspects of the agency’s Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan (PTASP).
•    Promotes safety awareness and follows safety procedures to reduce or eliminate accidents. 
•    Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education Requirement

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related degree is required.

Years & Experience Required

Minimum of five (5) years of professional accounting experience or fare media experience. Experience includes budgeting, contracts, purchase orders, creating shopping carts, processing invoicing for payments.  Experience with SAP/FICO preferred.

Knowledge & Skills Required

Knowledge of commonly used accounting and revenue concepts, practices, procedures, and budget. General knowledge of revenue collection systems preferred. Strong technical, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Products, Excel, Word, Power Point.
