Marketing Distribution Coordinator

Basic Function
Responsible for inventory control and distribution of METRO’s printed marketing materials.These materials primarily consist of METRO’s printed bus schedules and related customer information such as fliers, brochures, posters and point-of-purchase items. Responsible for distribution, retrieval and general repair of METRO schedule racks. Maintains direct contact with the rack vendors, bus operating facilities and RideStores. Performs duties in a safe, efficient manner and in compliance with all applicable rules and safety procedures.
Responsibilities and Specific Duties
- Maintains an inventory of printed bus schedules (public guides) and other core brochures for distribution to internal and external customers as follows: RideStores, Customer Care Center, Community Outreach, Transportation Supervisors, Chief Starters, Superintendents and METRO Police; Rack Vendors: consisting of government agencies, libraries, social agencies, hotels and other stakeholders.
- Coordinates distribution to accommodate bus schedule supply needs that are required by METRO's three service changes each year in storage.
- Performs weekly inspections at each facility to inspect for current/updated public guides and brochures.
- Fills requests received via fax, email, phone or mailed as needed in a timely fashion.
- Responsible for preparation with trimming and folding of bus schedules and brochures for distribution.
- Physically removes old materials and replaces with new material during service changes.
- Performs telephone and site surveys of distribution points to ensure the schedules are displayed properly and that the racks are in working order with our vendors.
- Ensures the most current brochures are displayed on location and updates database of public guide and marketing materials for inventory purposes.
- Installs and retrieves schedule racks.
- Organizes and keeps public guide storage area clean.
- Generates inventory and expenditure reports.
- Provides excellent customer service to METRO internal and external customers.
- Applies SMS (Safety Management System) methods and principles in daily routine and supports all aspects of the agency’s Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan (PTASP).
- Promotes safety awareness and follows safety procedures to reduce or eliminate accidents.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Education Requirement
High school diploma or GED is required.
Years & Experience Required
Minimum two (2) years direct experience in an inventory distribution environment or similar function.
Knowledge & Skills Required
A Valid Texas Driver’s license is required for the job and must meet METRO’s requirements regarding motor vehicle records. Good communication (written/verbal) skills. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Team/group leadership skills desirable. Working knowledge of personal computers and database software, specifically Microsoft Excel. Good driving knowledge of the Houston area.
