METROLift Scheduling Coordinator

Basic Function
Responsible for the management of METROLift’s scheduling systems and contractor furnished software tools. This position works closely with METRO's IT department and contracted staff to ensure the various technology systems are working to their full potential. Enhances routing and scheduling techniques to improve service efficiencies. Arranges and manages METROLift’s customer subscription service. Keeps abreast innovative processes that would enhance customer experience and more efficient scheduling processes. Performs duties in a safe, efficient manner and in compliance with all applicable rules and safety procures.
Responsibilities and Specific Duties
• Plans, develops, and supervises the systems operation of METROLift’s scheduling which delivers transportation services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
- Responsible for on-time delivery of METROLift services ensuring staff proactively monitor late service, take prompt action batching same day trips, routing required to reschedule service interruptions, and promptly responds to patron, driver and staff inquiries.
- Explores ways to optimize service by using new dispatch scheduling software.
- Documents service trends for use by management and data analysts to recover lost revenue.
- Responsible for understanding the operation and problem resolution as required to successfully operate METROLift's technology systems.
- Monitors performance of the technology systems providing recommendations for modification or enhancements.
- Assists with the implementation and testing of technology equipment systems.
• Works to ensure service templates are up to date with current customer information.
• Responsible for ensuring routes are scheduled efficiently and do not create circumstances that would cause drivers to compromise safety in order to maintain on-time performance.
• Provides excellent customer service to METRO internal and external customers.
• Applies Safety Management System (SMS) methods and principles in daily routine and supports all aspects of the agency’s Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan (PTASP).
• Promotes safety awareness and follows safety procedures to reduce or eliminate accidents.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Pay Range: 70,700 - $92,800
Education Requirement
High school diploma or equivalent. Additional college in a related field preferred.
Years & Experience Required
Minimum five (5) years' experience in the operations of public paratransit programs; scheduling and planning, reservations, dispatching, for people with disabilities and seniors, to include supervisory experience. Proficient in the use of paratransit scheduling software is preferred. Must have demonstrable experience in a paratransit or other demand responsive transportation environment
Knowledge & Skills Required
Strong human relations and communication (verbal/written) skills. Good decision making and organizational skills. Working knowledge of computerized reservation scheduling and dispatching systems, personal computers and related software; MS Office; word processing, database and spreadsheet.
