METROLift Application Analyst

Description: 

Basic Function

Supports department with the day-to-day issues that affect optimum system performance, troubleshooting, system upgrades and system failure emergencies. Runs various reports as requested by department staff to support operations. Serves as METROLift’s project lead when evaluating or implementing various trip planning and scheduling technology solutions proposed by METRO, vendors or contractors. Consults with end users to identify current METROLift operating procedures and reviews business processes for possible technical solutions. Work in collaboration with IT to ensure new systems, implementation and upgrades are tested, approved and moved to production. Performs duties in a safe, efficient manner and in compliance with all applicable rules and safety procedures.

Responsibilities and Specific Duties

  • Responsibilities include troubleshooting, reporting, data clean up, monitoring and resolving technology issues. 
  • Provides application assistance to the METROLift department and support to end users. Administer training, as required.
  • Serves as the department’s project lead when evaluating or implementing various trip planning and scheduling technology solutions proposed by METRO, vendors or contractors. 
  • Runs ad hoc reports as requested by department staff, reports include, liquidated damages (LD)/compliance, ridership data, ridership trends, service forecasting and third-party analysis.
  • Provides data for monthly contractor compliance reporting. 
  • Works with IT on data collection, continuous upkeep of reporting requirements and performing updates as required for the annual National Transit Database (NTD) process.
  • Tests, deploys and supports department audit and contract compliance reports (i.e., Taxicab Backup and MSP) and works with IT to ensure user apps or report designs meet acceptance criteria and client aesthetic needs for workflow.
  • Supports TRAPEZE data verification, connectivity, and activation involving Mobile Data Terminal (MDT) equipment. 
  • Works closely with IT to ensure software systems are working properly, create system and business process documentation and document all reports and applications.
  • Confers with IT and third-party project managers regarding any issues with applications related to reporting and data processing.
  • Researches and maintains knowledge of current technologies related to Paratransit.  
  • Assists IT and department personnel with developing and maintaining relationships with 3rd party support and contractors. 
  • Provides excellent customer service to METRO internal and external customers.
  • Promotes safety awareness and follows safety procedures to reduce or eliminate accidents.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
     

Education Requirement

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.

Years & Experience Required

Minimum five (5) years of professional experience in an application support environment that includes experience with implementation, testing, end user support and/or analysis. Experience in a transportation industry preferred. Trapeze experience is preferred.

Knowledge & Skills Required

Knowledge of commonly used business systems application concepts, practices and procedures. Ability to apply technical and analytical skills to application solutions. Strong level of proficiency in data analysis, report creation and computer applications. SQL, Crystal Reports, Business Intelligence Tools such as Tableau is preferred. Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowePoint and Access). Must be able work with others in a team environment. Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational.
