Basic Function

Develops, implements and oversees an infrastructure asset management registry and inventory database for the Facilities Maintenance Division.  Responsible for developing processes and procedures to capture relevant information for high level, complex decision–making regarding planning capital rehabilitation and/or replacement work, and improved operations and maintenance priorities. Performs duties in a safe, efficient manner and in compliance with all applicable rules and safety procedures.

Responsibilities and Specific Duties

  • Maintains database of assets and assists in data collection, gathering and compiling data on various Authority assets.
  • Prepares financial, operation, maintenance and other technical reports utilizing computerized inventory and asset registry in conjunction with asset managers to include calculations of net present value and life cycle cost.
  • Executes projects related to State of Good Repair, including developing scope of work, independent costs estimates, bid meetings, project control and quality control.
  • Conducts visual and field inspections, facilities audits using mobile computer technology and prepares reports on findings and financial estimates on deferred maintenance.
  • Identifies opportunities for improving maintenance practices and procedures for managing the Authority's assets.
  • Coordinates and assists project managers in obtaining operational and maintenance records, financial and cost data and performance criteria for individual assets.
  • Executes and manages purchase orders of critical assets.
  • Attends and participates in capital planning, coordination and development of long-range activities.
  • Prepares maintenance plans for existing and new assets.
  • Coordinates the transfer of assets from other entities to Facilities Maintenance or within sections of Facilities Maintenance. Prepares ownership cost reports for new assets
  • Provides excellent customer service to METRO internal and external customers.
  • Promotes safety awareness and follows safety procedures to reduce or eliminate accidents.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education Requirement

High school or GED required.  Associates degree in Business Administration, Technology, Manufacturing or Construction preferred.

Years & Experience Required

Minimum five (5) years of general maintenance experience in facilities maintenance including experience with computerized maintenance management systems.

Knowledge & Skills Required

Texas Driver’s License is required.  Knowledge of SAP, or similar asset management systems software.  Methods and techniques of data collection, economic principles and practices, the analysis and reporting of financial data.   Strong PC skills in Microsoft office suite and Intermediate Excel.  Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills.
