Electronic Revenue Systems Specialist

Basic Function
Under general supervision, diagnose and performance maintenance, repair and refurbishing of Ticket Vending Machines (TVM) and Platform Validators, Cashless Point of Sale (CPOS) devices, Vaulting Receivers and other ancillary fare recovery equipment supporting revenue equipment in the shop, at the facilities and along the railway. Performs duties in a safe, efficient manner and in compliance with all applicable rules and safety procedures.
Responsibilities and Specific Duties
- Maintains and repairs Ticket Vending Machines (TVM) and ancillary fare recovery equipment on Rail Platforms.
- Maintains and repairs, Cashless Point of Sale (CPOS) devices at METRO Park & Rides and remote locations.
- Maintains and repairs Farebox Vaulting Stations and ancillary recovery equipment.
- Performs bench level repair on revenue collection/TVM/Farebox modules when required.
- Maintains computer records and completes all paperwork documentation required for daily repairs and schedule maintenance.
- Creates and submits reports for special projects and equipment testing.
- Technical supervisor for repairs and installations performed by vendors.
- Assists with training new Electronic Revenue Specialists.
- Verifies reported defects and corrects/clears defects using logical troubleshooting methods; reports poor workmanship.
- Provides excellent customer service to METRO internal and external customers.
- Promotes safety awareness and follows safety procedures to reduce or eliminate accidents.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Education Requirement
High school diploma or GED is required. Associate’s degree in Electronic Technology is required.
Years & Experience Required
Minimum four (4) years progressive experience specific to electronic equipment maintenance, cash machines, ATM and electronic farebox. Ticket Vending Machine (TVM) experience is preferred.
Knowledge & Skills Required
Basic rail safety instruction. Good communications (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. Good decision making skills. A valid Texas Driver’s License is required and must meet METRO’s requirements regarding motor vehicle records. FCC license A+, Network+ or other industry certifications is preferred.
