Basic Function
Under the supervision of the Vice President of Partnership Promotions, will be working in a rotation of the Communications divisions including the EVP/Communications. Duties will include various responsibilities with Corporate Communications, Digital Marketing, Creative Services, Public Engagement, Administrative Services encompassing Printing and Mail Services. After completion of the rotational program, the Associate will then join Partnership Promotions team, and assist in identifying, prioritizing, and targeting prospective partners, local events, events of regional significance and special projects for development of promotional opportunities that highlight METRO and benefits transit services. Performs duties in a safe, efficient manner and in compliance with all applicable rules and safety procedures.
Responsibilities and Specific Duties
• Initially meets and interacts with all divisions of Communications for an overall perspective of Communication divisions and processes.
• Follows training curriculum by each division mentor and learn core processes at each assigned division and perform associated tasks.
• At completion of the rotation, will be assigned to the Partnership Promotions division of the Communications department.
• Will perform general tasks to learn how it functions and the role it plays within METRO.
• Will work with multiple departments within METRO to implement partnerships with other organizations designed to increase awareness and ridership for the authority.
• Assist in developing creative partnerships with companies and organizations to increase awareness of METRO’s services and ridership.
• Create and present basic and draft marketing presentations to prospective partners outlining the benefits of partnering with METRO.
• Will be introduced to METRO core departments to learn basic overall knowledge of METRO.
• Provides excellent customer service to METRO internal and external customers.
• Applies SMS (Safety Management System) methods and principles in daily routine and supports all aspect of the agency’s Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan (PTASP).
• Promotes safety awareness and follows safety procedures to reduce or eliminate accidents.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Education Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, business, or related degree required.
Years & Experience Required
Experience or internships in communications, marketing, public relations preferred.
Knowledge & Skills Required
Basic knowledge of business, sales, marketing, journalism, social media, project management. Good communication skills (written/verbal). Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and organizational skills. Proficient in Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
