Basic Function

The Digital Content Marketing Specialist is responsible for collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to gather information about various services and initiatives, and then distill it into engaging, easily consumable content for METRO’s enterprise website.  Accountable for ensuring content is positioned accurately with catchy headlines and concise writing.  Works with other team members to supplement copy with elements needed for “mobile-first” visual storytelling including but not limited to photos, videos, graphic, infographics, maps, charts etc.  Content must support and enhance every aspect of the user experience being considered with a forthcoming website redesign.  Performs duties in a safe, efficient manner and in compliance with all applicable rules and safety procedures.

Responsibilities and Specific Duties
  • Working closely with the Manager, Digital Marketing, writes content for the redesign and ongoing updates to METRO’s enterprise website.
  • Manages updates to website content using METRO’s content management system (Sitefinity).
  • Identifies and prioritizes key audience messages developed with cross-functional stakeholders to create website content and present it in a user-friendly manner, consistent with brand standards.
  • Aggregates content from various sources, adapting it for new and existing web pages while accounting for search engine optimization best practices.
  • Works closely with staff photographer to secure images that capture the METRO brand and assists with organizing digital assets for future use by internal team members.
  • Measures the effectiveness of content and optimization tactics using various analytics, tools and programs.
  • Collaborates and provides input on future updates and changes to messaging and user experience design within METRO’s mobile applications.
  • Promotes safety awareness and follows safety procedures in an effort to reduce or eliminate accidents.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Education Requirement

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or related field is required.

Years & Experience Required

Minimum five (5) years progressively responsible professional experience in digital content creation and storytelling, with emphasis on SEO content writing, content management and digital marketing.  Experience with corporate website redesign.

Knowledge & Skills Required

Strong working knowledge and understanding of UX design.  Highly skilled in project management.  Proficient in a Windows environment (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook).  Proficiency with analytics software (Google Analytics, Google Firebase, MOZ and HotJar).  Must be proficient with website content management systems (Sitefinity a plus), digital asset management platforms and e-mail marketing software.  Proficiency with graphic design and video production components of Adobe Creative Cloud a plus. Excellent communications (written and verbal), interpersonal and relationship building skills.
