It Pays to be a METRO Mechanic

We're actively recruiting for bus repair mechanics to maintain our bus fleet and ensure on-time performance. Newly hired mechanics employed with METRO for six months will earn an incentive of up to $8,000.

Class A Compensation

Immediately earn $28.90 per hour.

Class B Compensation

6-12 months (one year mark) $27.72
After one year $28.99

Requirements

  • Minimum three (3) years mechanical repair experience on automotive, medium or heavy equipment
  • ASE certified in brakes, steering/suspension, PMI preferred
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass a Department of Transportation(DOT) physical, drug and alcohol screen, and pre-employment background investigation
  • Ability to acquire certifications or special licensing as requested
  • Ability to obtain a Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brakes and "P" endorsement
  • Complete set of hand tools
